The card and envelope are packaged together in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiffened mailer. Note: one or two cards are shipped USPS First Class without tracking. Three or more cards are shipped via the most economical means, which usually includes tracking.

Framing. This nature mandala card is created using high-quality materials, such as might be used in a museum. The print is sharp, bright, and frameable. To protect the vibrancy of the artwork, I frame using UV glass or acrylic, and I recommend it. If you use plain glass or acrylic, make sure you hang this sweet, little piece and all your beautiful art away from direct sunlight.

About the Art. The digital collage on this card, titled Etched Fronds, was created from this photo of Spanish moss and tiny resurrection ferns growing along the limb of a live oak tree at Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Resurrection ferns grow on the bark of trees but are epiphytes, not parasites, so pull nutrients and water from the air.

Like resurrection fern, Spanish moss is also an epiphyte (and not moss at all but a bromeliad.) Both plants skim the surface, perching in the branches of live oak and baldcypress trees but not sending roots down like other plants into dark, unknown depths. In contrast, Etched Fronds represents a dive into the darkness, where we just might find our shadow side staring back at us through piercing yellow eyes. Woodsy and grounding, this is also, for those not afraid of the dark, a nice piece for contemplation.
