This throat chakra mandala card is fifth in a series devoted to the seven major chakras of the human body. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, or circular. Each of the chakras represents a spinning wheel of a specific type of energy. When you're doing and feeling your best, all your chakras are spinning unimpeded and at an optimal rate. Chakra-focused meditations can help slow, speed up, or unstick specific chakras. The mandala on this card carries the energy of the fifth, or throat chakra, centered right over your larynx, or voicebox. The throat chakra is associated with the color blue. Aqua blue represents communication guided by the heart. The energy held by this mandala can be helpful when you're feeling misunderstood or would like to enhance your ability to clearly communicate your needs, your desires, your preferences. It's also particularly powerful for writers, editors, and storytellers.

Folded 5" x 7" card is digitally printed using high-quality pigment inks on silky, bright white, acid-free paper, and comes with a beautifully made, bright white envelope. The photograph I used to create the mandala is printed on the back of the card with the photo location and a special wish for the recipient. Interior of the card is blank. The paper is smooth and takes gel, ballpoint, and other inks well. The card and envelope are packaged together in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiffened mailer. Free shipping is by USPS first class mail. Tracking is not included with single card shipments.

Framing. This throat chakra mandala card is created using high-quality materials, such as might be used in a museum. The print is sharp, bright, and frameable. To protect the vibrancy of the artwork, I frame using UV glass or acrylic, and I recommend it. If you use plain glass or acrylic, make sure you hang this sweet, little piece and all your beautiful art away from direct sunlight.

About the Art. The mandala art on this card, titled Cold Waters, was created using a photo of blue waters I took along the Trail of the Cedars in Glacier National Park. The water flowing through Glacier in northwestern Montana is truly special...absolutely magical. It is, you see, aqua. Clear, bright, beautiful aqua. A beautiful flowing jewel. The rivers and creeks are fed by the mountains as they give up their bounty of snow each summer. The glacial till carried down the mountains and deposited in McDonald and Avalanche Creeks causes the otherworldly blue sparkle of the waters. Nowhere in the Park are the waters more beautiful than along the Trail of the Cedars where Avalanche Creek sidles up to the boardwalk, allowing visitors a peek into the deep, chiseled gorge. The photo that became my Cold Waters mandala was taken right there at a time of relatively low, still water. Cold Waters is a special piece that celebrates this gift of the mountains. It's also full of throat chakra energy and represents, to me, the free-flow of words and ideas, guided by the heart as they emerge clear and true to meet the right ears at exactly the right moment.

Linda Gribko is an avid gardener, naturalist, author, artist, and photographer living just outside Morgantown, West Virginia, on a one-acre property she calls Yellow Bird's Rest. She's been gardening since the age of three, when she was put to work plucking rocks from the family vegetable patch, and was gifted her first growlight set-up at the age of eight. Linda is best known for her wildflower photography and the digital mandala art she creates from her nature photos, but is also a mixed media artist and published author. Her quirky first novel, "Giving Voice to Dawn", was published in November 2016 and was followed up with "The Lion's Apprentice" in June 2020. The series follows the magical romp of a woman plucked by the Universe from the cubicles of Corporate America and dropped into the crease between "this world and that" where Spirit Animals carry messages, disembodied voices spout wisdom, and you never know who might show up to walk you back home.
