Autumn Leaves Mandala Card – Autumn Light

$6.50

Autumn leaves mandala card glows with the magical light of late October. Look again and you’ll notice the question mark butterfly, which has recently emerged and will overwinter as an adult. Printed as a 5.25″ by 5.25″ museum-quality folded blank note or birthday card, this piece can be framed or sent as a greeting. The primary photo I used to created the mandala is printed on the back of the card with location info and a little story.

Note: one or two cards are shipped USPS First Class without tracking. Three or more cards are shipped via the most economical means, which usually includes tracking.

Autumn leaves mandala card digitally printed using pigment inks on silky, bright white, acid-free paper. Folded card is 5.25" by 5.25" and comes with a beautifully made, bright white envelope. The paper is super smooth, not slick, and takes gel, ballpoint, and other inks well.

Perfect as an autumn birthday card or frame it as a little gift for yourself or someone else. The photograph of maple leaves that I used to create the mandala is printed on the back of the card with the photo location and a little story. Interior of the card is blank or choose greeting from the choices below.

Interior Message Choices: Blank, Happy Birthday

Shipping. The card and envelope are packaged together in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiffened mailer. One or two cards are shipped USPS First Class without tracking. Three or more cards are shipped via the most economical means, which usually includes tracking.

Framing. This card is created using high-quality materials, such as might be used in a museum. The print is sharp, bright, and frameable. To protect the vibrancy of the artwork, I frame using UV glass or acrylic, and I recommend it. If you use plain glass or acrylic, make sure you hang this sweet, little piece and all your beautiful art away from direct sunlight.

About the art.The digital collage on this card, titled Autumn Light, was created using this original photo of the ‘Green Mountain’ sugar maple growing in the front yard of my property on Pleasant Hill near Brookhaven, West Virginia. This particular variety of sugar maple colors up later than all the other trees in the neighborhood, stopping traffic for weeks in late October.

This piece is meant as a celebration of autumn in the Central Appalachians. Brightly colored leaves and bright blue skies herald the arrival of the “punctuation butterflies.” Bright orange and spangled with black markings, comma and question mark butterflies can be told apart by the patterns on the upper wings. The comma sports a row of three dots. In the question mark, the dots are joined by an elongated dash. Which of the two is glowing here in the bright autumn light?
