Milkweed Rising Workshops

Although I have tons of workshop ideas and too many hobbies to list, I’m currently holding myself to two areas of some level of expertise: reed basket weaving and gardening with native plants.

I’ve woven reed baskets since 1986 when I took a class at the local community center in the small Ohio town in which I was then living. I’ve been teaching beginning basketry workshops off and on for almost as long to small groups and large.

My gardening experience dates back to the age of three when I was given my first job in the family vegetable patch—picking up rocks churned to the surface by the rototiller. I’ve been gardening ever since and have added degrees in forest resources and wildlife biology to round out my knowledge base.

So, if you’d like to weave an Easter basket or learn how to winter sow seeds, I can probably help you out with a workshop or two.
