Description
I took this photo of wild dwarf larkspur in magical light just as the sun dropped below the horizon. That time of day always creates a special energy in the air, which I captured in the mandala, titled Magic Portal, that I created from this photo. There’s an interesting backstory with this photo, too. I was literally lying down along the edge of a forested path to take this photo as the light faded when three dogs bounced down the path to smother me with greetings. Their people were mortified that their dogs had interrupted me and had tramped some of the vegetation that I was photographing. As luck would have it, though, the dogs had trampled interfering plants and their greetings resulted in an even better image. The dogs had, in effect, stepped through the magic portal to help me out.
