Folded card is 5.25" by 5.25" and comes with a beautifully made, bright white envelope. The primary photograph of a golden eagle used to create the artwork is printed on the back of the card with the photo location. Interior of the card is blank or choose a message from the list below. The paper is super smooth, not slick, and takes gel, ballpoint, and other inks well. The card and envelope are packaged together in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiffened mailer. About the art. The digital collage on this card, titled Eye of Kona, was created from this photograph of Kona, the resident golden eagle at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Aviary in western Maryland. This artwork was inspired by depictions of the Egyptian Eye of Horus, a symbol of protection, health, and restoration.

Kona is bold and intense, just like the coffee blend for which he was named. After being shot, his right wing was amputated, curtailing his ability to hunt. Golden eagles enjoy a diet of mammals and other birds, and commonly prey on rabbits, squirrels, grouse, pheasants, ducks, geese and even full-grown wild turkeys. They also enjoy snakes and lizards, will prey on foxes, coyotes, wolves!, and won’t pass up a carrion feast. Although Kona can no longer hunt, he enjoys playing with toys and can snatch a tennis ball from the air like nobody’s business.
