Description

This mandala note card is a Milkweed Rising exclusive and is printed from an original work of digital art. The mandala art on this card, titled Etched Fronds, began as a photo of Spanish moss and tiny ferns growing along the limb of a live oak tree at Brookgreen Gardens near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As lush and green as this photo appears, it was brutally hot and humid the day I visited Brookgreen with my mother. She had already retreated to the AC of the truck, ready to cool off while I took a few pics of this natural still life. You either love the completed mandala or not. I love it, as it represents our shadow side, staring back at us out of the darkness with piercing eyes, not to be denied.

This blank card makes an interesting Birthday or Everyday card and seems to be particularly popular among men. It’s 5″ wide and 7″ tall and is printed on premium 100 lb. white matte paper, suitable for framing. A white envelope is included. The original color photo and story of the piece are printed on the back of the card.

Please note the watermark shown in the photo does not appear on the printed card.

Linda Gribko is an author, artist, and photographer living in Morgantown, West Virginia. She's known for her wildflower photography and the mandalas that she creates from her nature photos. Her quirky first novel, "Giving Voice to Dawn", was published in November 2016. It's the magical romp of a woman plucked by the Universe from the cubicles of Corporate America and dropped into the crease between "this world and that" where Spirit Animals carry messages, disembodied voices spout wisdom, and you never know who might show up to walk you back home.
