Messages arrive as clouds of indigo sparks—spinning and whirling, ricocheting off one another before scattering in the winds.

These particular sparks flew by in December 2017.

Well, I got several new decks recently, including The Good Tarot by Colette Baron-Reid. I was excited to finally receive this deck, with its strong basis in the four elements; but, have to admit that it’s really pretty hard to read. All of the cards have the same ethereal quality, so the contrast that makes for a good message is missing. However, it’s snowy and cozy and overcast here on Pleasant Hill today, and ethereal is how I feel, so here goes…

This week, I used the The Good Tarot (yes, yes, I already mentioned that) for a storyboard spread to be read from left to right. I read all cards in the upright position, because that’s what I intended when I drew cards. Read my interpretation of the message, but also take the time to feel into the cards and ask for a message specifically for you. I might miss nuances that are important to you as an individual.

From left to right the cards are…

Five of Water (Regret, Grief, Forgiveness):  This deck doesn’t come with single keywords for each card, so I’ve inserted those that usually pop up when the Five of Water appears in a reading. This is a challenger card in the suit associated with the Emotional Realm. The water nymph shown is a little out of it…feeling a bit melodramatic and, perhaps, even put upon. Notice she appears to be stuck in a shell, too, so might be feeling a bit constrained. The appearance of this card is a suggestion that you just might be blocked emotionally…that you might be holding onto some old stuff or are playing the, ahem, victim in some regard or in a particular situation.

Seven of Earth (Vision and Perseverance):  The Seven of Earth usually signals a bit of reward in the Physical Realm for hard work and a vision to which you’ve already committed. But, here the Earthy, grounded Seven is between two cards that represent the highs and lows of emotion. We’ll get to the Nine of Water in a minute, but the story here is that you’re jammed up emotionally at one end of the spread and joyously set free at the other. What sits between the extremes is a good plan and some diligent work with your feet firmly planted on Terra Firma. So, a plan is needed this week if you want out of your funk or would like any  emotional blocks removed. Am getting the message that you might want to climb out of the water completely and focus on something concrete and physical this week…something in the here and now, which won’t necessarily be a quick fix.

Nine of Water (Joy, Good Luck, The Wish Card) The payoff for a plan, some vision, and a bit of perseverance this week just might be an emotional turnaround. I would venture to guess the mermaid here really, really wanted a cascade of diamonds…she looks super happy in her constrained way, and she’s certainly been released from the shell that was holding her back at the beginning of the week. For you, the transition might feel similarly low-key or you might just have a full-on joyful emergence that has you dancing in the streets.

Overall:  Take a moment today to consider where you’re stuck emotionally, and instead of staying in your shell, come up with a grounded plan of forgiveness, healing, or just plain moving on. Stick with that plan and the week just might end on a much happier note.

I wish you great joy,

Linda

There are now only three 2018 calendars left, so this is probably last call since I don’t reprint the calendars. I also have matted prints, affirmation cards, chakra card sets, and Ephemeral Joy ornaments available.

If you’d like a personal reading at this time, feel free to contact me and we can arrange something. A simple reading is $40, more complex is $75, and all kinds of freaking complex is $150. These can be by email or Skype.

Surprise! I last send a message out to you in September, right as the art festival season began to ramp up. As I got busier and busier, and found myself on the road for Oracle Mondays, my diligence slipped away. And now it’s December, and time for a timely message.

This week, I used the Chrysalis Tarot for a storyboard spread to be read from left to right. I read all cards in the upright position, because that is what the creator of this deck intended. Read my interpretation of the message, but also take the time to feel into the cards and ask for a message specifically for you. I might miss nuances that are important to you as an individual.

From left to right the cards are…

Green Man (MA 4):  In the spirit of full disclosure, I have to share that Green Man is one of my main guides. He doesn’t necessarily look like a tree and isn’t necessarily a “he”, but whenever I pull this card, I know that his hand is in the reading. Here the message is about connection and grounding, the power of Nature to heal and transform, and the hope inherent in a nest of delicate eggs tended by a fragile little wren. Note the blue in the upper left corner of the card. That blue is the color of my guardian angel…the color of Green Man’s energy…and a message to you of protection and love.

Two of Scrolls (Fantasy):  So Green Man appears to tell you you’re safe and protected, but now what? It’s time to set off in a new intellectual direction, of course! The Two of Scrolls suggests the very beginning of a new way of thinking and communicating. Yes, it’s time to bust perceptions and think in new and fanciful ways. If the state of the world has you on a treadmill of despair or an exercise bike of concern, the suggestion here is to get wildly creative in terms of your thought processes. What if, what if, what if the unicorn was black and had purple wings? What if your mind had purple wings? Visualize a wing on each side of your head and allow your brain to be lifted right out of the case that contains it…

The Corsair (Knight of Spirals) …because The Corsair awaits. This energetic guy is ready to take you on an adventure. Seeing as it’s an adventure he’s promising, expect to feel uncomfortable at times. Lean into the protective energy, carried your way by Green Man, and grab your swash-buckle. This is a time of great risk and great reward, exploration, and transformation.

Overall:  Sink first into the protective energy of Green Man. If you’d like to visualize him as I’ve seen him, imagine a J-shaped squiggle of energy lying on its back and zipping around your space. He’s there and he’s got you. Feeling a little safer? Get your brain percolating! Allow those purple wings to lift your gray matter up so you can rise above whatever’s containing and concerning you. A new perspective and new opportunity, in the guise of The Corsair, await. Don’t fight the pirate’s strong energies…he’s leading you toward expansion, not destruction.

I wish you great joy,

Linda

Updates and such! So just what have I been doing since September? Well, in addition to lots of art shows, festivals, and exhibits, I’ve been working on the sequel to Giving Voice to Dawn. The new book, titled The Lion’s Apprentice, follows Ellie and her soul group as they expand (or not!) into their new lives. The story largely takes place at Gettysburg National Battlefield, both in 2015 and 1864, while the battle raged. The Lion? Hmmm, without giving away too much, you met him in GV2D. He’ll have a lot more to say in the new book, which I plan to publish in Spring 2018.

I’ve also been doing LOTS of framing. I sold a record number of framed art pieces this fall and have been restocking my art bins. And I’ve finally taken some nice photos of my framed art, which is almost all available here in the online shop. Several pieces are at sale prices currently, including a small selection of vibrant canvasses, so check out the shop, if you’re still doing a bit of holiday shopping. I also have a small number of 2018 calendars still in stock. I won’t be reprinting, so if you haven’t gotten yours yet, you might want to order soon.

If you feel as if you’d like a personal reading at this time, feel free to contact me and we can arrange something. A simple reading is $40, more complex is $75, and all kinds of freaking complex is $150. These can be by email or Skype.

And with that, I’ll leave you to Green Man and The Corsair!
