Messages arrive as clouds of indigo sparks—spinning and whirling, ricocheting off one another before scattering in the winds.

These particular sparks flew by in August 2017.

Two weeks ago, we received a message of pausing, resting, finding some stability, pausing some more, resting some more…two weeks ago there was nothing for us to do but wait. Between then and now, we’ve had the Great Solar Eclipse (which I, by happenstance enjoyed on the Gettysburg Battlefield). There was a New Moon associated with the eclipse, so a fresh start. With all the peering into the darkness that we’re doing lately, however, it’s kind of hard to feel the freshness in the energy that’s moving in. And, given the message for this week, the movement will continue to be a bit paced…and the pace might feel slow for those of us in a perpetual hurry.

This week, I used the Wildwood Tarot for a storyboard spread to be read from left to right. I read all cards in the upright position, because that was the intention I set as I pulled cards. Read my interpretation of the message, but also take the time to feel into the cards and ask for a message specifically for you. I might miss nuances that are important to you as an individual.

From left to right the cards are…

Three of Arrows (Jealousy):  This Three is at the beginning of the suit associated with The Mind, The Intellect, and Communications. Recall, we had the Two of Arrows in this position two weeks ago. Both the Two and the Three in this suit represent lower manifestations of the Mind…ways of thinking that feel heavy, negative, or that just hold us back. Although the keyword here is “jealousy”, I’m feeling strongly that any unproductive train of thought can be inserted. Think of this card today as representative of those thoughts and attitudes, behaviors or believes, that feel very much like a bloody, burning heart, shot full of arrows…not good.

King of Vessels (Heron):  The King of Vessels has come back around (as if he ever left!). The message he brings today is one of addressing your emotions with a bit of logic. Logically detach from any bloody, burning heart craziness this week. You’ll be better off if you move carefully through the waters, like a heron stalking prey. Be quiet, don’t splash around, don’t make a big fuss…keep your eye acutely on your target and don’t worry about what others are doing…or what they may think of what you’re doing.

Four of Stones (Protection) Which leads us back to the Four of Stones, our bonus card of two weeks ago. Remember that the message here is of stability, grounding, and protection. I’m not sure if the sun is rising or setting, but there’s an overwhelming sense of calm in the illustration. That’s the calm you’ll feel when you put your quiver of arrows away and forgo any lower thoughts that may beckon you into their web. You are Heron this week—calm, logical, and unflappable.

Overall:  Once again, we’re being cautioned to detach from the fray so that we don’t lose our footing. This might include peering into dark places, as Heron is a harbinger of the Underworld. Do your best to remain unrattled while keeping your arrows safely in your quiver. The pace is still slow, so take your time with things. Really feel into what you do this week, while trying your best to stay focused on higher thoughts and measured displays of emotion.

I wish you great joy (and good thoughts free of negative obsessions),

Linda

Are you interested in a personal reading? Well, I didn’t end up scheduling anything this week or last. I was carried back from Gettysburg on a whirlwind of ideas for my new book and needed time for things to settle. Expect to see an offering soon, though, as I know several of you would like a reading.

Last week, we received a message of quiet contemplation and of a forested clearing devoid of people. That forested clearing has been haunting me a bit all week…there’s something more there than just the promise of the wheel’s turning…I’m feeling “preparation” now around that card…and a strong feeling that the clearing will soon be packed with people. Interestingly, the people seem to be drawn out of the woods by the fire, not by the promise of piles of goods…it’s the energy that’s beckoning, not the promise of ease in the material world.

As a follow-up this week, I’m sharing a spread I pulled yesterday after asking what I most needed to know at this time. The message was so stunning and so clear that I feel compelled to pass it along. I used the Wildwood Tarot for a storyboard spread to be read from left to right. I read all cards in the upright position, because that was the intention I set as I pulled cards. Read my interpretation of the message, but also take the time to feel into the cards and ask for a message specifically for you. I might miss nuances that are important to you as an individual.

From left to right the cards are…

Two of Arrows (Injustice):  This Two is at the beginning of the suit associated with The Mind, The Intellect, and Communications. Note these three things immediately about the illustration: 1) a human is pictured; 2) the human is seated; and 3) the strong sense of balance conveyed by the scales. This Two suggests gathering of energies to move forward within a new head space. Suggested is an opportunity to figure out how to use our Intellect to higher purpose. We’re not doing that yet, though. Instead we’re going within…seeking guidance…seeking inspiration…opening ourselves to a sign…shutting off input (via the blindfold), so that truth can stream on in. Focus now on the word “injustice”. What does that word trigger for you at this particular moment in time?

Four of Vessels (Boredom):  And what do we have in the next card? A seated human? And a strong sense of balance via the two jugs pouring water into the the large urns? Yes, exactly…repeating imagery. The fours of the tarot, in general, carry the energy of stability and pausing. Vessels are associated with the Emotional Realm, so we have here an emotional pause. Don’t become distracted by the word “boredom”…feel this more as an emotional emptying out. This bored woman is emotionally zoned…observing…not riding the wave of prevailing emotions. Which, okay, can be boring, but…

Four of Arrows (Rest) …it’s time to REST. The human form here is also still. You might assume that the man was running from an archer (Life on Earth), who unleashed four arrows at him as he finally collapsed of exhaustion. Notice that the man is oddly at the edge of a cliff. How did he get there? Did he just scale the cliff? Fight his way to the top while under fire? Yes, likely so. Remembering that the suit of Arrows is associated with The Mind, Intellect, and Communications, we can interpret this card as a need for mental rest…a cessation of the churning of The Mind. But note also the sense of balance conveyed by the distribution of the arrows. See the strong theme running through the spread? Sit…or lie down…become still…don’t react…allow an unfolding…open to your guidance and wait…don’t become embroiled in expressions of lower energy…become still…and wait.

One More Card:  I asked for one more card for clarity yesterday and received the Four of Stones (Protection). Another Four, reinforcing the message of stability and pausing. Note here the still fawn under the balanced rock. Stability, balance, and calm.

Now, interestingly, I pulled cards for myself yesterday while asking what I should “kick to the curb”. Included in the spread was the Four of Bows (Celebration). This Four depicts a wild, fiery celebration of dancing women…suggesting burning off of energy while pausing our forward momentum. I share this additional card with you because conservation of energy seems to be important for all of us right now, so kick the wild expenditures to the curb…don’t burn away that which you will soon need…energy should be built at this time or kept in reserve…not just burned off to relieve discomfort or boredom. It’s a time of focus, dedication, and the building of intention, not a time of wild dispersal of will.

Overall:  Well, the overall message is crystal clear…PAUSE. While you’re in the seated or supine position, enjoy a sense of balance. Not feeling balanced, you say? Step out of the fray, leave the dance, and just sit with yourself. If you remain quiet and open, that butterfly from the Four of Arrows might just flutter in. Remember that Butterfly carries the energy of transformation and of seeing from a heightened perspective. Just as the caterpillar can’t force itself to emerge from the chrysalis more quickly, you can’t force transformation at a quicker clip. So, stay calm and settle in.

I wish you great joy (and a restful mind),

Linda

Are you interested in a personal reading? I haven’t made an offer recently, but the energy feels right again. Watch your email for details. I’ll probably schedule a day next week for remote (emailed) readings.

So, how did the death card treat you last week? For me, I felt the very definite dying of an old way of being, in favor of something that feels light and exciting. I realize many aren’t feeling light or excited right now, but I seem to be bubbling over with glee. Interestingly, I pulled the death card again for myself this morning, and am not at all afraid; although, the message had a lot to do with the state of the natural world. I’m seeing more clearly each day my unique role in helping turn the tide.

This week, we have a message of, well, messages…positive messages, in particular.

Major Arcana 2 (The Seer):  The Seer is associated with The Magician of the traditional tarot, and suggests a time of heightened awareness. By “heightened awareness” I mean messages coming fast, thick, and stunningly through the veil. Expect more messages and also more meaningful messages, as energies shift, change, and reveal new truths. Note the water in the illustration and also note the round shape of the bowl. We also see water in the second card and a circle in the third card. I’m getting very clearly that messages received will have something to do with The Wheel turning. The water suggests emotional responses to the changes that come about as “life rolls on”. Note that the waters here are not deep. There’s a shallow veneer here that you can peer right through to get to the truth of a situation.

King of Vessels (Heron):  The King of Vessels is the masculine master of the emotions. Herons are harbingers of the underworld, and they offer are thought to carry messages from said unseen world. Note the heron peering into shallow waters just as The Seer is doing. There’s a strong repetition of imagery here that suggests we really need to pay attention. It will be worth your time to slow down and do some concentrated peering of your own this week. But don’t strain to see the bottom of the dish…what you need is going to bubble right up to the surface to be “consumed” or comprehended. Remember that the male master of emotions has brought an unflappability to the table, which is also mirrored by the attitude of The Seer. There’s an opportunity about to receive clear messages to which you will respond with detachment and cool acceptance.

Six of Bows (Abundance) Yeah, so every once in a while I want to throw a card back in the deck and pick again, because I just don’t get it. Whenever I do that, of course, I realize that the original card was what was needed, so dig it back out and read it. I must admit that I did want to shove the Six of Bows back into the mix and choose again. But on second examination, we have here the suggestion of the wheel and of things moving forward. There’s a promise here of goodness hidden in the forest, just out of sight. I’m reading this as a removal of energetic blockages (Bows is the suit associated with Energy, Action, and Passion). The messages received, if responded to with cool detachment, could very well clear obstacles for you. I’m not feeling, however, that baskets of goods will rain down upon you. This card is not in the suit associated with physical resources. There’s a more general message here of strong, positive realizations via the insights you receive while contemplating your shallow dish of H2O.

Overall:  It’s a big week for messages and new insights. They will come to you during moments of quiet contemplation, so make time this week for contemplating quietly. Expect good outcomes via the messages you receive, especially if you’ve lately felt energetically blocked or discouraged.

I wish you great joy (with many wonderful insights),

Linda

2018 Calendars…are now available. The 2018 Nature Mandala Calendar was a big hit in Shepherdstown, WV, this week. Click here if you’d like to grab one for yourself. The March mandala, “Heart of the Princess”, still feels in play this week. She’s shadowy and holds so much strong energy at her heart. Feels like a time of finding the key to setting that energy loose.

When last we met two weeks ago, we had before us a choice to make and an invitation to forgo dramatic, emotional collapse in favor of being the dragon willing to illuminate our own dark corners. How did that go? I have to admit that the week’s energy did work out for me, as I was forced to focus my energy if I wanted to feel at all settled. Once I made up my mind where to focus, things fell into place.

This week, we seem to have somewhat of a follow up message…a warning of death followed by a bit of disorganization and challenge as we prepare for next steps.

Major Arcana 13 (The Journey):  Okay, let’s be real…this is the Death Card. Of course, the illustration does make that perfectly clear, what with the raven ripping the last strands of flesh from that poor stag’s almost denuded skull. “Death” here could mean a physical death that reaches out to touch and shake (or even shatter) you. However, a metaphysical death could be implied or even the death of a way of being, the death of a regime, the end of a cycle…now matter the specifics, expect an ending this week. Or realize that a recent ending will drag its icy fingers through the next seven days of your life.

Major Arcana 10 (The Wheel):  And what happens when one thing ends? Why, the wheel turns, of course, as life goes on down a sometimes new path. Whenever The Wheel shows up, know that you aren’t fully in control of a situation. The message here is to wait and see…you’ve bumped the wheel onto a new course and now it’s rolling, so hold on with your eyes wide open and a sense of detachment in your heart.

Two of Stones (Challenge) The suit of Stones is associated with the Physical Realm, or all things Earthly like wealth, health, and resources. The appearance of a Two here suggests that the current revolution of the wheel will affect us primarily in the Physical Realm. The boxing hares suggest that a challenge is at hand, but this card can also suggest a new opportunity…a new opportunity that requires planning and a bit of discipline.

Overall:  Something leaves us this week. Could be a big Universal something or millions of little, personal somethings; but, death is upon us and a new plane on which to operate is at hand. You might benefit this week by allowing The Wheel to show its hand. If you’re not in too much of a hurry (and don’t try to control The Wheel’s rate of revolution or its path), you might just end up somewhere fantastic. Do know, however, that things will feel new, a bit challenging, and more that a little up in the air, as something fresh begins in the physical realm. This could be a big week for those who allow things to evolve. One final message that just popped in…stay detached…definitely don’t panic and don’t take “the death” too hard…there’s a cleansing process going on that will allow you to move on with more clarity if you’re patient with the process.

I wish you great joy (and patience),

Linda

2018 Calendars…are now available. Early, I know, to be thinking about your 2018 schedule of events, but I get requests for these every summer and have finally worked ahead. Click here if you’d like to check them out. Definitely study the March mandala, titled “Heart of the Princess”…it’s a little shadowy (okay, a lot shadowy) and fits in well with the current energies.
