The primary photograph of a great horned owl used to create the artwork is printed on the back of the card with the photo location and a little story about the symbology included in the art. Interior of the card is blank or choose a message from the list below. The card and envelope are packaged together in a plastic sleeve and mailed in a stiffened mailer. Note: one or two cards are shipped USPS First Class without tracking. Three or more cards are shipped via the most economical means, which usually includes tracking.

To protect the vibrancy of the artwork, I frame using UV glass or acrylic, and I recommend it. About the art. The digital collage on this card, titled Morty and the Moon, was created from this photograph of Morty, the resident screech owl at the Deep Creek Lake State Park Aviary in western Maryland. The photo of the moon was taken at Antietam Natioinal Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Morty is a gray morph eastern screech owl, who came to the aviary after a collision with a car left him blind in one eye and unable to hunt. The eastern screech owl has two primary color morphs: gray and rufous. Gray morphs like Morty dominate in hardwood forests, such as those found in western Maryland. Closing their eyes, they disappear against the gray bark of the maples, oaks, hickories, and other deciduous trees that grow in the region. Listen for the spooky whinnying call of the screech owl in wooded areas during the dark of night.
