Original mandala art created using a photograph taken by Linda S. Gribko. This piece started as a photo of a perennial garden that filled a big bed at the front of my house (it has since been shaded by a maple tree and gave way to a hosta bed). I always referred to this garden as ‘The Crayon Garden’, hence the name. A digital image does this piece no justice—it is stunning in printed format and perfect for meditation. My process involves color replacement and posterization using only a single photographic image. I tease all of the patterns and designs from the depths of the photo.
